MacBook's doing that freeze-thing
My primary computer:
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)
- 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
- 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
- Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
Not much, you'll agree. But since I mostly use it for writing, it's Good Enough.
Lately, though, it's taken to freezing. Sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes longer. But today, after a half hour of me doing something else, it became clear that the computer was not going to recover. So, I shut it down.
It came up OK. I mentally reviewed all the things that could be making it unstable. There were only a few things I normally have plugged in to it, so I'm testing this thing without those plugin devices. And there are only two:
- an HDMI monitor for desktop use
- a Logitech wireless mouse and associated USB thing
I also have a bluetooth keyboard, in this case a Matias "Laptop Pro keyboard for Mac" and a Mac bluetooth trackpad, the kind that uses AA batteries.
Nothing shocking, nothing you wouldn't find on a thousand or so other laptops.
